I am a bit more than a few mistakes
I am a bit more than a few mistakes,
So one little push is all it takes
To send me to the ground, and there I will stay.
I am a bit more than a few mistakes,
But despite being cynical, I still crave
Validation from people I see every day.
I am a bit more than a few mistakes,
Just kept together by trite praise
To keep me from crumbling or going astray.
I am a bit more than a few mistakes;
I don’t want to smile and come off as fake,
And yet the real me isn’t who I display,
So I guess I would rather be opaque.
I am a bit more than a few mistakes,
Uncaring, but seeing that with each day
I am less careful about the things I say,
Although I hope my friends are okay.
I am a bit more than a few mistakes;
Because of this, I shy away
From responsibility, and, try as I may,
I am a bit more than a few mistakes;
I am not who I said I was yesterday.
